I know it sounds strange to say that I'm finding mask wearing fun and stylish these days - but it's true. I have about 5 different Throckmorton Jones masks now, and I like being able to pick which one fits my mood, and/or matches what I am wearing. They fit my face nicely, and I can breathe easily through them. The first time I entered into the boutique in Lakeport was this past summer after a friend that was visiting and I had been out shopping. Stepping inside was like wandering into another planet compared to the shopping we?d been doing all weekend with beautiful handcrafted leather everywhere the eye could see. Unique pieces made into corsets and small capes and all types of wonder. Denim for Days and Rock n Roll Shirts for Miles. So much to look at and at the same time not overwhelming but welcoming. We just happened to be out thrifting older vintage clothing. I had a leather jacket I had picked up in the car with some stains on it. So my thought was maybe someone in the shop could help me figure out how to clean it as I myself knew that working with suede could be tricky. Enter the shop owner and she was so helpful and gave me plenty of advice for something I hadn?t even purchased from this store. A month or so goes by and I decided to treat myself to a VIP concert for a favorite Artist of mine. Time to start thinking about what I?d wear. Sourcing clothes has become a new hobby of mine. The more I thought about it the more I knew I wanted something more special than a cool kitschy Vintage find. I was going to be bolder with this outfit so I went in and starting spouting out ideas for what I might be able to put together to look more unique and stand out in a crowd of Country Rockers and avid concert goers. Throckmorton Jones to the rescue. They helped me hone in on what it was that was going to become one of my new favourite pieces of clothing for one of the most memorable experiences of my life so far. If you want to know what it?s like to wear art as clothing I suggest you mosey into this wonderland of riches and custom create alongside a master of their craft and never look back. I will be asking them to create a sister look for this piece as I?m going to a show again at the end of October and do not want to show up in anything less than a Throckmorton Jones original. The amount of looks and comments and compliments I received was like arriving into a new version of myself and though you might think how could clothing help to make me feel this way. My answer is to try for yourself and see if you can pull it off because life is to short not to look and feel as fabulous as you can and how we present to the world says a lot about who we are inside. I wanted to feel special and this clothing did that and more for me I?m forever grateful for stumbling upon this Diamond of a Shop in my hometown where I grew up and it makes me grin ear to ear knowing we have such a welcoming establishment at our fingertips. Rock On and Dress for the Gods I know I?m not done returning to myself and looking Stylish and like walking Art in the process.

Lisa is truly a gem in our small town. She is an incredibly talented textile specialist with an impressive depth of knowledge, and her custom leatherwork is absolutely beautiful. She made me a reversible custom belt that is not only exceptionally well-crafted, but also incredibly clever. I have two pairs of shoes in different colors, and Lisa designed the belt so that it works perfectly with both. When I switch shoes, I simply reverse the buckle, flip the belt over, and I?m ready to go.
